Building a new home is one of the biggest decisions you can make in life, so we want you to be confident in your choice. That’s why at Barry’s Construction, we work hard to make sure you’re informed and comfortable with every step of the process. We want to make things easy, so we’ve created a simple guide to illustrate our home building process.
Your next step is to meet with our team to find out what’s available in your desired community. We will guide you to the best lot for your new home, as well as all the available designs for your home. Barry’s Construction also keeps an up-to-date list of all our available lots on the Communities page for easy browsing.
Once you’ve decided on the right lot and design, our team will provide your Agreement of Purchase and Sale to make sure the transaction is legally in place.
Next, our team will begin drafting the working drawings for your new home, giving you the opportunity to weigh in on the design before a permit is obtained. From there, we will consult with you on final design choices, materials and colours. These include your new countertops, cabinetry, flooring, molding, ceilings and more. To avoid delays in construction, all choices should be selected within 2 weeks of the design consultation.
Now that everything is in place, it’s time for our team to start construction. We begin with excavation, foundation, framing and preliminary plumbing and electrical work. Don’t worry, you’ll have opportunities to view the construction progress with us to ensure it meets your expectations. With your approval, we’ll finish drywalling, painting and adding all the finishing touches to the interior and exterior. Before your move-in date, we’ll give you a final tour of the building to make sure you’re satisfied and understand how everything operates in your new home. After we address any issues and provide a top-to-bottom cleaning, the keys are yours.
